I’m a big fan of bullets, and clitoral stimulation in general, and this new addition from lovehoney certainly lived up to my high standards. I would say it is very similar in design to Rocks off Ammunition RO-80mm Bullet Vibrator both in size and the kind of vibrations it provides. With an RRP of £10, it’ll also cost you about the same amount as the RO-80mm, so it’s really down to which one you like the look of better. However, I also found this powerful little bullet has the best feeling and greatest variety of well thought out patterns of any clit vibe that I’ve tried. I’m usually a constant speed girl myself, but this little beauty has opened my eyes to the wonderful world of vibration patterns! Although the RO-80mm also has a variety of patterns to chose from, this is the first bullet I’ve used where I’ve felt the patterns were really something special. So if patterns are your thing, I’d recommend trying this bullet.
The bullet comes in classic Lovehoney packaging, with the bullet floating in a cardboard sleeve, and simple, clear operating instructions are included both on the back of the packaging and in a little booklet that’s behind the bullet itself, which also has suggestions on how you might like to use your bullet. It’s simple, clean and functional.
The bullet is a lovely matt black plastic, with a soft coating on it which makes it feel super soft but still maintains the rigidity needed for powerful vibrations. It’s a small and discreet toy, about the length of my finger, with a tiny tapered tip. The coating does feel really nice, and makes a change from the shiny glossy plastic of my other bullets. It’s the same kind of coating used for Tracey Cox Supersex G-Spot Vibrator.
To get started you simply twist and pull the top off. It takes one N sized battery, which thankfully is included, because these little funny sized batteries can be tricky to find cheaply. I have the same issue with the RO-80mm which is why I eventually upgraded to the rechargeable Rocks Off Ignition Bullet Vibrator. However, given the similarity in speed and power of the RO-80mm and power play from Lovehoney, there must be a certain kind of really great motor that can only be powered by these tiny batteries. So for that, I forgive any difficulty finding them. After removing the cardboard tab on the battery I found it a little difficult to put the top back on the vibrator. I’ve discovered that it only goes on one way, as there is a little piece of plastic stopping it going on backwards, so be aware of this and don’t force it if it’s not going on! Also, if you don’t get the top back on aligned perfectly the toy will still work but it’ll be very muted, really weak barely audible vibrations. If this happens, just take the top off and carefully put it back on again, making sure you close it tight.
Twisting the lid into place, I found it has a really tight seal, meaning I’m completely confident that the bullet is waterproof; I’d happily take it for some aquatic fun! This also means clean up is really easy, as I can stick it under the tap for a good clean with antibac soap when I’m done. Always remove the battery as soon as you are done too though, as I know from experience these little batteries run down quickly, even if the toy is turned off. You’ll find an N sized battery will last 10 times longer if you remove it and keep it somewhere safe after every use. However, this does mean you will always have to battle with that tricky top when you want to use the bullet.
To start the toy you just click the top button, which is easy to push and find, and it starts off on a low constant speed: perfect for a warm up. My first thought was “wow, is this little toy powerful!” I’ve never felt such power from a small battery operated toy before! It leaves me tingling. Power play is definitely an apt name! Because of the small size and the tapered tip, you can direct all that power exactly where you need it, and it feels more powerful simply because all the power is concentrated in a small area. This, for me, is the beauty of a good bullet vibrator. If you like your whole vulva to be stimulated at once, I’d suggest a pebble shaped clit vibrator rather than a bullet.
The second and third faster constant speeds are too much for me, but I love, and I mean LOVE the patterns! I know I mentioned this already, but it bares repeating! There are 7 of them and they range from oscillating, to slow pulses, to fast pulses, to a mixture of constant speed and any of the above! They all feel amazing on my clit and nipples, and the tapered tip does a great job at directing the vibrations exactly where I need them.
The variety means the build-up to my orgasm lasted longer, despite all that power, leading to a more explosive orgasm. With so many patterns to choose from, and them all feeling great, I’m looking forward to hours of fun with this little powerful beauty.
