In the past I’ve not been a fan of rabbit vibrators. You might have notice a distinct lack of them on my Sex Toy Review page. Sure, I’ve tried a few, but never one that I loved. They were often too large and uncomfortable with impossible to reach buttons, or the clit part and the internal part just wouldn’t work well at the same time. I returned the failures I had bought and moved on, preferring to DIY my own rabbit by controlling two toys independently. However, I’ve always wanted to find a rabbit I enjoyed. Who wouldn’t want simultaneous G-spot and clitoral stimulation with a hand still free to explore other regions? So when Sh! asked if I’d like to review the Demona Wave, a new rabbit-style vibrator they are selling, I couldn’t resist giving it a go. I’m truly glad I did.
The Demona Wave is produced by a Chinese company called S-Hande (or sex-hande to give their full name), although they name the toy “Demons” on their website. I’m not sure if this was a typo (the “a” being right next to the “s” on qwerty keyboards) on one side but I think Demona has a nicer ring to it anyway. It comes in a smart box with the S-Hande logo on the outside and the Demona Wave nestled safely in a sponge mould inside. There’s also a USB charging cable and a little info sheet with simple operating instructions.
The Demona Wave is made of a really lovely purple silicone. It feels velverty soft to the touch and is completely seam free, definately a high-grade material. The back of the toy has a shiny metallic ABS plastic section to act as a handle. In the very base of the toy is the charging port. It is covered by healing silicone, so you need to push the pin of the charging cable through it to get it to charge. You can then plug the USB end into a USB wall plug or port in a computer. The buttons on the front flash a bright blue colour when the toy is charging and go solid when it is fully charged. When you pull the cable out again the hole reseals, keeping the toy waterproof.
The Demona Wave has three motors that you can control independently using the simple controls. The central button turns the toy on and off. Hold it down for a few seconds and the buttons will light up, meaning the toy is on. The central button also controls the clitoral vibrator. Click it once and the clit arm will vibrate into life at a fast, powerful and fairly buzzy constant speed. Click it again and you get a pattern, there are 6 you can choose from by clicking through, and they are all nice pulsations or oscillations. The 7th click turns off the clitoral arm (but not the toy). Hold the central button down for a few seconds again to turn the lights (and the whole toy) off. Clicking the top arrow button starts the shaft of the toy buzzing away on a powerful, yet fairly buzzy, constant speed. The vibrations are focused around the end of the shaft: exactly where you’d want them to be. Clicking the top button again moves on to the 6 patterns, much like the clitoral arm. The independent control of these two motors means you can tailor the stimulation to be exactly what you enjoy. I like to use constant speed for my clit and pulsating patterns for g-spot stimulation, so I love that I can set the toy to do just that.
The bottom arrow button controls the wave motion of the shaft. Clicking it causes the whole shaft to move forward and back in a mesmerizing way. I made a really quick video of it which I posted to my instagram. You can have a look here to get an idea of the range of motion (and the sound it makes). Click the down arrow a second time and the wave motion continues, but doesn’t change in any noticeable way (I’m not sure if it is meant to or not). The third click will stop the motion. One thing I love about this toy is you can independently control all three functions, and have as many of the motors as you like on or off at any given time.
In use, this toy was fucking amazing. I say that with real sincerity. I didn’t have great expectations for it at all really, but holy shit was I pleasantly surprised! The shape of it is just perfect, and it did exactly what I wanted it to: the clitoral arm stimulated my clit, the shaft filled my vagina nicely, and the wave motion expertly applied pressure to my G-spot. I was in ejactulatory orgasmic bliss in no time!
Here’s a more thorough run-down of my first use. Rest assured subsequent uses have been equally successful. I had already had an orgasm with my partner. I can’t really use insertable vibes of this girth comfortably unless I’m already really aroused, so it seemed like the ideal moment to try the Demona Wave. I lubed up the shaft and clitoral arm using the saquet of water based lube Sh! included in the package, and easily pushed the Demona Wave into my vagina. I started off by turning on the clitoral arm. The first thing I noticed were how incredibly easy the buttons were to locate and the handle was to hold. The way it is shaped means the way you would naturally hold it keeps the toy at the best angle for clitoral and G-spot stimulation. I also could always hit the right button by feel alone, it really was that simple to control.
The clitoral arm pushed into my clit in a flexible yet direct way, and the powerful vibrations felt really good. I thrust the toy slowly and found out when I do that the clitoral arm rubs my clit up and down in a delicious way. When I turned on the shaft vibrations things really amped up. The angle of the shaft was perfect for directing the powerful vibrations directly at my G-spot. By some engineering miracle, I found I could massage my g-spot and rub my clit effortlessly at the same time, with one hand free for some nipple play and the the other comfortably controlling the toy. I could feel the orgasm building inside me fast, before I’d even turned on the wave motion. I got the feeling you get when you know you’re going to squirt.
I pressed the final button, turning on the wave. In this function I had to hold the toy down to make sure the motion applied the maximum pressure to my g-spot and didn’t just move the handle about. I was worried I might damage the toy, but I needn’t have, this toy is strong! The extract pressure felt truly amazing. All I had to do was hold the toy in place until I exploded into one of, if not the, most intense and powerful squirting solo orgasms of my life!
However, I’ve got to stop reminiscing for a moment and point out some of the negatives of this toy. The major disadvantage of the Demona Wave is it is LOUD. There’s no getting around that. If you want a motor that physically moves a shaft there’s no way it is going to be quiet. If you need a toy to be discreet, or are worried about being overheard, this is definitely not the toy for you. Even the vibrating motors are loud, and once you’ve got three on together there’s nothing discreet about it. Another negative is there is no intensity control. Most vibrators now have at least two intensity levels for the constant speed setting. The Demona Wave has only one, and for me, it’s pretty damn powerful. I need to warm up with a gentler toy first. The motors are pretty buzzy rather than rumbly, although they didn’t feel harsh at all to me which is often my problem with buzzy vibes. However, if you know you can only get off with a really deep rumble, this is not the vibe for you. It also doesn’t come with a little storage pouch, although this is minor as the box is sturdy enough for long term use.
Overall, I think the positives outweigh the negatives with the Demona Wave. It has all the qualities I expect from a top of the line product: it’s made of high-quality silicone, its USB rechargeable, 100% waterproof for thorough cleaning or shower fun, and it gives me powerful squirting orgasms. The shape is ideal for hitting all the right spots on me and the handle is comfortable and controls are so easy to use. There’s not much more I could ask for from a luxury sex toy. It’s made me a rabbit convert and set the bar high.
If you’d like to buy your own Demona Wave Vibrator you can buy it from Sh! here.
*I’d like to thank Sh! for sending me the Demona Wave Vibrator free of charge in exchange for a product review. This in no way affected my opinion of the vibrator.
