The Rocks-Off purple heart vibrator has a large heart-shaped silicone head and a long, curved ABS plastic handle. The silicone is seamless and feels velverty soft to the touch. The handle is perfectly smooth and shiny. The handle is curved so that if you hold it up straight the heart is tilted forward by about 45 degrees.

The Rocks-Off Purple Heart vibrator comes with four AAA batteries included. To get started, you first need to remove the protective card that stops the batteries from running down and the toy from going off during transit. Now, I saw that image of how to get the end of the purple heart vibrator off, and like the slow minded person I am, I thought you had to twist it off. I spent aggggeeesss trying to twist it off, and when it wouldn’t budge I assumed my product was faulty. After a quick chat to Rocks-Off I discovered I was reading the diagram all wrong. You don’t twist the end off, you pop it off! Basically just push downwards on the end that flicks up and it will pop off (and go flying across the room and under your sofa or bed if you’re anything like me).

Inside there is a removable battery compartment, which takes four AAAs. Once you’ve removed the tab, put the battery compartment back in, rescue the end from where ever it landed, and push the whole thing back together, making sure the thin rubber seal is still in place (without which the rocks-off purple heart wouldn’t be waterproof).

There are two simple push buttons to control the Rocks-Off purple heart vibrator. The top is an on/off switch. The bottom scrolls through the 10 functions. The first three are constant speeds, each more intense than the last, the remaining seven are various pulsating patterns. There are no oscillations (i.e. when the vibrations smoothly ramp up than back down again). I’m not normally a fan of patterns on my clit, so I tend to stick to the first two settings (setting three is too intense for me, it feels sharp and almost painful). The vibrations are surprisingly powerful and rumbly, I am impressed by them.

I have experimented using the Rocks-Off purple heart in a variety of different ways, both during sexual play with a partner and during solo masturbation. What I have found out is although there is a pointed tip to the purple heart, it does not work for pin point stimulation. If you know you only like precise stimulation on your clit, this is not the toy for you. I have also found that, for me, the purple heart works a lot better if I use it like a massager; i.e. apply direct and firm pressure to my clit( incidentally, I also find that the rocks-off purple heart makes a brilliant neck and shoulders massager). The silicone heart is solid and unyielding, allowing me to apply the exact amount of pressure I need. In this way the rumbly vibrations on the lower settings can bring me to a lovely clitoral orgasm.

During penis in vagina sex, I find the rocks-off purple heart is best used when I’m on top and my penis-owning partner is lying flat on his back. Due to the angle of the heart to the handle, I can easily hold it on my clit, whilst still being able to angle my body close to his. This is sometimes difficult with shorter toys, I find i have to sit straight upright to be able to get at my clit with them over my belly bulge. Due to the shape and length of the handle of the rocks-off purple heart, I found it fit snugly over my belly bulge, making keeping it in contact with my clit easier, and giving me more freedom of movement in this position. The only thing I found out was that I wished the buttons were closer to the end of the toy so that I could more easily reach them during PiV sex. I found I had to stop and sit bolt upright if I needed to up the intensity, which was not ideal. However,  I can see why the buttons are placed where they are; if I just hold the rocks-off purple heart in my hand my thumb automatically rests near to the buttons.

Overall, I really like the Rock-Off purple heart. It has got a good motor, it is made from nice body safe materials, it is pretty and different to look at, and it’s shape makes it easy to use during PiV sex. It is for lovers of broad, powerful, rumbly vibrations, and that isn’t always me (pin point is usually my friend), but I still found it highly enjoyable.
