The Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator is a rechargeable, silicone coated bullet vibe. It’s a little larger than other bullet vibes I’ve come across before, so could also be used as a small vaginal vibrator. It’s waterproof, has 20 functions and a travel lock feature.
The Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator comes in a nice black and purple cardboard box, which is nicely designed and stylish. Inside the box you’ll find a little shiny black pleather zip-up bag. It looks just like a little make up bag, so is very discreet as long as no one looks inside. It is double zipped with a ring on each zip so you could padlock the zips together to keep the bag securely close if you are really worried about someone looking in it (a padlock is not included though, you’d have to purchase one).
Inside this lovely little storage bag you’ll find a USB pin charging cable, a little instruction booklet and the Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator. One thing I love about the desire range is the inclusion of good quality storage solutions, and the Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator is no exception to this.
The Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator is about 11cm long and 8cm in circumference around the widest part. This is quite big for a bullet vibe, but is does have it’s advantages; its much easier to hold on to and direct, which makes it a good toy to use during sex with a partner. Also, its big enough to make a reasonable vaginal vibrator, especially if you’re a beginner or only like to be vaginally penetrated by smaller toys. The downside to such a large bullet is that it completely lack precision. Although the tip is tapered, its more of a gentle rounded taper, meaning that you just don’t get that pin-point precision you get with smaller, more pointed bullets.
The length of the Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator is coated in a lovely silicone. It’s a shiny purple with a pearlescent-like gleam to it which is really nice to look at. The silicone feels like its got quite a bit of friction to it when you touch it, its not as nice and velverty smooth as other luxury silicone products I have tried, perhaps it is down to the pearlescent finish. Lube is a must with the Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator. The base is a lovely gun metal colour ABS plastic with a single push button for a control.
First of all you need to unscrew the plastic base of the Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator to reveal the charging port. The pin of the charging cable pushes in to the port about half way (I checked with Lovehoney and it is correct that the pin only goes in half way, so don’t try and force it any further). Plug the other end into any USB port and a little LED next to the charging port should glow red. Once the Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator is fully charged the light will turn green, which takes about 2 hours. Pull out the charging cable and store it back in the storage bag and screw on the plastic base tightly, to make sure the Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator remains waterproof.
The Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator is very simple to control; click the single button at the base and it will buzz into life on the first constant speed. Click it again to move through all 20 functions, and hold it down to turn the Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator off. Thankfully, the Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator will always switch on at the first constant speed, so if you love setting 3, for example, but you accidentally click it on to setting 4, it will be quicker if you turn it off and on again and click to setting 3 rather than clicking 20 times to cycle through all the functions before you get back to it.
The first 3 functions are all constant vibrations, each faster than that last. The next 17 functions are all patterns, which I won’t bother boring you with a description of each. There’s a mixture of different oscillations and pulses, each different, but not so different that there needed to be 17 of them. Perhaps I’m being overly critical here, but I really do not understand why anyone would think that 20 functions is a good idea, particularly when you can only cycle through them in one direction using a single push button that is so easy to push accidentally (it only takes a gentle click). Personally, I’m not a fan of patterns on my clit, so I largely ignore the 17 upper settings, but this actually makes the toy easier to use for me because I can easily get to the first 3 settings just by turning it off and on again. If you loved just one particular pattern you’d be forever trying to find it amongst the sea of vibrations. Perhaps if you’re someone who loves exploring different patterns then you’ll absolutely adore the chance to play with 17 of them. Personally, I think it’s overkill.
To activate the travel lock on the Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator you simply need to double-click the button, the same way you would a computer mouse. The Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator will vibrate twice in response to let you know it is locked. Then if you click it accidentally at any point, it will repeat this double vibrate, to remind you it’s locked I guess? I wish it didn’t have this reminder, because the point of a travel lock is that it won’t vibrate at an inopportune moment at all, not that’ll it’ll vibrate but only a little. To unlock it, you just double-click the end again and it will buzz into life as if you’d turned it on. Simple.
The vibrations are quite rumbly and powerful, particularly on the lower speeds, which I was pleasantly surprised by. I have even found the Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator makes for a nice neck, head and shoulder massager, the vibrations are rumbly enough to get deep into tissue and release some tension. As the Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator is fairly rigid, you can press quite hard into muscles which feels really good when they are very tense from hunching over a computer all day.
In use, I did really like the Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator. On the lowest two settings I ran it over my body, it’s deep vibrations makes it great for foreplay, it feels good on my nipples and tummy and inner thighs. It also feels good teasing just the entrance to my vagina, with the aid of water base lube. On my clit, I just it more like a mini magic wand vibrator than a bullet. Although it’s no good at precision, it’s great to massage my (lubed) clit, leading to warm, cosy, satisfying orgasms.
I’ve also used it during PiV (penis in vagina) sex, and got on really well. It was easy to hold on it and direct, and fit easily between our bodies, so it worked for a variety of positions. It did lead to me having a lovely orgasm too.
Clean up is easy because the Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator is waterproof. I just cleaned it with some soap and warm water. The only part that could get a bit gross is where the plastic base meets the shaft. After the Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator is dry I screw the base off and clean around this area carefully with a sex toy wipe.
Overall, I like the Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator, even though I have issues with the number of functions they chose to include. I think the Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator would be a good choice for someone with problems or pain with their grip, as the extra friction and longer length make the Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator easier to hold on to and the control button only needs a very gentle touch to operate.
If you’d like to buy your own Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator you can find it here.
I’d like to thank Lovehoney for sending me the Lovehoney Desire special edition bullet vibrator free of charge in exchange for an honest review. This in no way altered my opinion of the product.
Love the review Miss Jezebella, and glad to see you back. Made me lol about the overkill of hundreds of different power/pattern options. I could see myself on quite an orgasmic rollercoaster using those haha,

Thanks Laura! Yes, 20 settings is at least 12 too many I think….
