The Sohimi mini tongue vibrator is an interesting little budget vibrator, retailing at only $39.95 USD on the day this review was published. Its coated in silicone and is USB rechargeable. Unlike a typical vibrator, it features a pointed silicone “tongue” that flicks up and down, rather than just a vibrating edge.
What you get

The box the Sohimi mini tongue vibrator comes in is a simple white label cardboard box. It’s flimsy and not worth keeping. Inside you a brief instruction booklet, a USB charger and the Sohimi mini tongue vibrator.
Charging up

The charging system for the Sohimi mini tongue vibrator is very good, it has a magnetic base that the toy sits on and you can plug in to any USB port. An LED flashed beneath the single button control when it is charging and stays solidly on once it is fully charged. I like this system because the Sohimi mini tongue vibrator sits on top of its charger there is no risk of the connection breaking during charge.
Controls and Features

The Sohimi mini tongue vibrator has a single button to control it. You need to hold it down for a few seconds to turn it on and again to turn it off. A led lights up when it is on. There are 10 settings to choose from, and you scroll through them by clicking the button. The first 3 are constant speeds, the rest various patterns. The led flashes to reflect the pattern, which is a fun, if a little pointless, feature.
Using the Sohimi mini tongue vibrator

The Sohimi mini tongue vibrator is one of those middle of the ground sex toys that I find difficult to write about. It’s not terrible, but neither is it very good. I think the description on its product page is misleading, it mentions sucking which is no a feature the Sohimi mini tongue vibrator has (it is literally just a vibrator with a pointed bit of silicone attached so that it flicks when vibrated). If you are looking for something that feels like oral sex, you will be disappointed: on one’s tongue can move as quickly as a vibrator. It feels absolutely nothing like oral. What it does feel like is an mediocre, fairly buzzy vibrator. I can use it to orgasm when it is on its highest constant speed setting and the tongue point is against my clit, but the orgasm is quite shallow and weak.
I have found that lots of lube is needed because the “tongue” can feel quite harsh and unpleasant against my skin otherwise. In addition to clitoral stimulation I have also tried the Sohimi mini tongue vibrator on my anus and nipples and vagina. The weak, buzzy vibrations do nothing for me in any of these areas. The product page suggests that the outer part of the Sohimi mini tongue vibrator can also be used for stimulation, however the vibrator is located just below the “tongue” so I find you feel very little on any other part of the vibrator (just like the handle of any vibrator, you can tell that its vibrating but can’t feel them strong enough to stimulate pleasurably).
I think the Sohimi mini tongue vibrator works better as a teasing toy rather than the main event. You could use it for a warm up or with a partner.
Final thoughts

The Sohimi mini tongue vibrator didn’t do much for me. Perhaps I’ve been spoilt by more luxury brands with a higher price tag. For such a low price tag, the Sohimi mini tongue vibrator does have a lot going for it, it did make me orgasm without too much effort when used on my clit with lots of lube. It is also coated in a high quality material, its controls are simple to use and I like it’s charging system. I think perhaps I am put off by its misleading promise of feeling like oral and having a powerful motor. I found its vibrations weak and buzzy, and the flicking tongue quite a harsh sensation unless you use a lot of lube. Having said that, if you’re on a tight budget and want to try something a little different to the standard bullet style vibrator, you might like to give the Sohimi mini tongue vibrator a go.
