Packaging

The Hot Octopuss Amo bullet vibrator comes in a shiny pink cardboard box. It has a modern design and is pleasant enough to look at. It’s not particularly sturdy but it only houses a small toy, so it is fit for purpose.

What you get

Inside the box is a quick start guide, all made from images, a warranty, a USB charger and the Hot Octopuss Amo bullet vibrator. There is no storage bag included, but the cardboard box it comes in isn’t very large so it could be used for storage, or at least to keep the warranty and charger in so you know where to find them.

Charging up

The Hot Octopuss Amo bullet vibrator has a pin style charger. There is a small hole in the silicone on one side of the vibrator that you need to push the pin of the charger in to. The USB end can be plugged in to any USB port. When the Hot Octopuss Amo bullet vibrator is charging an LED will glow red just below the pin charging port. This light will turn green once the Hot Octopuss Amo bullet vibrator is fully charged. Simple enough.

Design and Functions

The Hot Octopuss Amo bullet vibrator has a silicone body with an abs plastic base. This is a bit backwards in my opinion, because silicone dulls the sensation of vibrations which is what you want in the part you are holding. Also, it means there is a seam where the silicone meets the plastic which needs to be carefully cleaned, which could have been avoided if the whole thing was silicone or abs. Having said that I love the colour design of the base, it fades from bright red to black, which meets the black silicone of the rest of the toy. So it looks pretty, if not entirely optimal for use.

The Hot Octopuss Amo bullet vibrator has 3 control buttons, two on one side and one on the other. The button that is alone turns the vibrations on and off if held down for 2 secs. It also controls the patterns of vibrations when clicked, there are 5 vibration patterns to choose from. The two buttons on the other side increase (top one) or decrease (bottom one) the intensity of vibrations. This is a sensible design and I like that you can easily customise the setting to your preferred intensity and pattern.

However, I find the buttons quite difficult to press. I have to click quite hard through the silicone in the exact right spot to get them to work. This is annoying in the heat in the moment and is made even more difficult once there is lube involved. If you have problems with grip or precise finger pressure the Hot Octopuss Amo bullet vibrator would not be ideal for you.

Using the Hot Octopuss Amo bullet vibrator

In use, I really enjoyed the Hot Octopuss Amo bullet vibrator. Yes, I did have problems with the buttons as mentioned above, but I forgive that for the deep rumbly vibrations and clit hugging shape. The Hot Octopuss Amo bullet vibrator has a pointed tip that the shaft gradually curves towards, so that the tip is pointing outwards from the toy rather than the traditional bullet shape where the tip is centrally on the top. This meant I could use the tip to stimulate the the tip of my clit, just below the hood, and the length of the Hot Octopuss Amo bullet vibrator would stimulate the length of my clit. This added to and intensified my pleasure, leading to satisfying orgasms in no time.

I also found this position great to use during penis in vagina partnered sex, particularly when in a spooning position (being pregnant this is our most common position right now).

If you are a fan of broader rather than precise stimulation you can use the flatter head of the Hot Octopuss Amo bullet vibrator for wider stimulation.

The Hot Octopuss Amo bullet vibrator is fully waterproof and made of body safe non porous materials. You can clean it easily with soap and water and sterilised it with a baby bottle sterilising liquid or a 5% bleach 95% water solution.

Summary

There is a lot to like about the Hot Octopuss Amo bullet vibrator: it’s made of good quality materials, it’s waterproof, USB rechargeable and it has a powerful motor delivering wonderfully deep rumbly vibrations for such a little toy. I’m a big fan of its novel shape and I find it works really well with my anatomy.

The design is not perfect, however. I found the battery ran out after 2 or 3 uses from fully charged, which isn’t a deal breaker but I’d expect a little more. The control buttons are difficult to press through the silicone, and although the abs plastic base looks pretty, I don’t fully understand why it’s there, as a fully silicone product may work better in terms of being easier to grip and there being less vibrations transfered to your hand.

Overall the Hot Octopuss Amo bullet vibrator is a good clitoral toy, and I do recommend based on quality of vibrations and shape alone, despite its small drawbacks.
